WallFlower

Like a flower on the wall,
she wants to live but has to fall.
All shadows cling and she can’t move,
looking for sun but gone too soon.
No water finds her darkest roots,
for in the wall she’s stuck forever
forever

The rain alone is welcome here,
all else is danger and the fear,
the spider crawls along her neck,
the deer eats half of what she has.

Sleep in winter, hope in spring,
pain in summer and then rain.
Her roots are weak, she cannot spread,
one step ahead one step ahead
and frost and ice destroy it all,
just like the sun upon the wall,

for in the wall she’s stuck forever
forever forever

She dreams of fields,
she dreams of earth,
of smell and colours she has never seen.
She wants to breathe,
she wants to see,

the blooming ocean of her soul,
the many friends combined below,
but all alone she fights the wall,
nobody sees, and she will fall.

for in the wall she’s stuck forever
forever
